Dani Ceballos said he’d choose Arsenal again if he had to, despite all the complications of the campaign, admitting he’s happy at the club, so will he?

Dani Ceballos’ loan spell with Arsenal came to an end after the FA Cup final, but speaking ahead of the game, the midfielder admitted he didn’t have any regrets over his decision to come to North London.

“I have been very happy at Arsenal,” Ceballos said. “Logically it is a season that will be marked by the pandemic…except for that, I have been very happy because the fans, the teammates and the two coaches that I have had have wrapped me up.

“If I had to choose Arsenal again, I would. Right now I feel like a leader of this important team, a player with stripes. Surrounded by people who believe in you, it is easier to believe in people.

“When you play like this and you also have the confidence of the coach, everything is easier.”

Ceballos initially joined Arsenal under Unai Emery, of course.

He made plenty of appearances early on, featuring in every game until he picked up an injury in a Europa League match against Vitoria. With hindsight, he was probably playing a little too often.

Then again, not a huge amount changed after his eventual return.

At first, Mikel Arteta didn’t seem too keen on using him, leaving the Spaniard on the bench for around a month of Premier League football.

However, after the player’s attitude in training changed the head coach’s mind, and he became a staple of the team.

Ceballos featured in every single game from Newcastle United on the 16th February to the end of the season. More than that, the fans started to enjoy his performances increasingly as time went by.

We’ll just have to wait and see whether he’ll rejoin the club again for next season. Real Madrid and Arsenal were said to close to another agreement, then it was claimed Real Madrid wanted to keep him.

What the truth of the story is, we aren’t too sure yet, but according to the latest report from Spain, Ceballos has give Arsenal the go-ahead to try and make a deal.
