According to Sport in Spain, Philippe Coutinho’s agent and Arsenal’s new best friend, Kia Joorabchian, is in negotiations with the club over a loan move for the former Liverpool man.
Costing Barcelona a ridiculous £130m, the 28-year-old has been on loan with German champions, Bayern Munich all season where he scored eight and assisted six in the Bundesliga.
After just 76 appearances, 21 goals and 11 assists, Barcelona no longer want him and would quite like to move him on. The price they paid initially, however, means they will have to take a massive loss to do that permanently.
All that aside, Arsenal don’t really have to cash to be buying a load of £50m+ players this summer so will look to loan deals where possible to boost their experience.
It is a loan deal that the club are reportedly discussing with Joorabchian.
It’s worth noting that Arsenal were linked heavily with a move for Coutinho last summer and nothing materialised.
That being said, we hadn’t quite got so cosy with Joorabchian as we have over the last 12 months and that could change everything.
Joorabchian, for the record, is Edu’s agent as well as Cedric Soares’, while he also acts as an intermediary for David Luiz.
With Liverpool, Coutinho scored 54 and assisted 45 in 201 games.
