Mohamed Elneny provided an assist for Besiktas in their 5-1 victory over Denizlispor on Saturday, as his run in the team continues.
Whatever their off-field problems this season, Besiktas are certainly sticking with Mohamed Elneny on it. Elneny has started and played 75+ minutes in every single league game this season since joining, other than the four he missed through suspension.
It was the same again on Saturday, as he started against Denizlispor. The Egyptian had a good game in the 5-1 win, even providing an assist for one of the goals.

Elneny also completed 91% of his passes and had a couple of shots, but he wasn’t as involved defensively as usual due to Besiktas’ dominance in the match.
The 27-year-old is now up to three assists for the season, which doesn’t sound too impressive, but that’s largely thanks to the role he plays in the team. He often sits between the centre-backs in possession, allowing them to split and push up a bit.
The amount of time Elneny spends roaming the final third isn’t a lot. It’s most likely to come in games like Saturday’s, where his team are already multiple goals in front. Still, it’s nice to see him getting involved further forward occasionally.
