Inter Milan are ‘lukewarm’ on the case of Alexandre Lacazette, and they aren’t making any serious approach to sign him right now.
FCInterNews report that Inter Milan are lukewarm on the idea of signing Alexandre Lacazette this summer. The French striker could leave Arsenal and Mikel Arteta doesn’t consider him ‘untransferable’. There’s no contact from Milan just yet, though.
Lacazette’s representatives made a few approaches to Inter to try and establish their interest, but they didn’t receive a hugely energetic response.
This goes against recent reports that Lacazette is a priority signing for Inter. Instead, they’re primarily moving for the likes of Edin Dzeko right now.
All the same, Inter are likely to try and sign two strikers this summer. They’re losing Mauro Icardi to PSG, and may also see Lautaro Martinez join Barcelona. Though Lacazette isn’t on their list for the first-choice spot, he may make the list of potential backups.
If Inter did want to sign Lacazette, they’re probably one of few clubs who could afford what Arsenal would want this summer.
Despite going through the same financial difficulties as the rest of Europe, Inter have the benefit of selling to PSG and Barcelona to raise cash. It’s just whether they actually want to spend that money on the Arsenal striker.
