RMC reporter Mohamed Bouhafsi wrote on Twitter that Arsenal are one of the clubs with an interest in Said Benrahma. They join Leicester City and Chelsea, with the latter reportedly pushing the hardest to complete a deal.

Chelsea are in discussions with Benrahma’s entourage and they also informed Brentford of their interest, without making an official offer at this stage.

Arsenal got a close look at Benrahma during their recent friendly match against Brentford. The winger played the first half of their win, though he came off at half-time with his side 1-0 down. He also featured in the League Cup match at the same venue last season, but he only played the final 11 minutes.

Looking at this season more generally, Benrahma has 10 goals and eight assists in 34 Championship appearances. The 24-year-old left-winger has a contract with Brentford until 2022 and looks likely to move on this summer.

The media first linked Benrahma to Arsenal a long time ago now, with some reports back in February 2019. It does seem as though there’s some substance to the interest, but the Gunners clearly aren’t acting on it very quickly.
