Diego Simeone isn’t giving up on Thomas Lemar and Atletico Madrid aren’t planning to sell him on this summer, according to reports in Spain.

AS report that despite Thomas Lemar struggling to impress with Atletico Madrid so far, Diego Simeone is still planning to try again and give him another chance.

The head coach continues to believe in Lemar’s potential and doesn’t want the club to sell. If they fail to qualify for the Champions League, they may not have much choice but to sell to raise cash. But for now, they’re hoping to hang onto him.

The Spanish outlet add that Arsenal have the most interest in the winger right now, and Lemar’s representatives also met with people from Manchester United. However, the club are standing firm in their stance that they don’t want to sell.

Even before this latest update, we were dubious about the chances of Arsenal making any sort of serious approach for Lemar. He doesn’t have a goal or assist to his name this season, and is still living off that one Ligue 1 campaign in 2016/17.

If Atletico were really keen to sell and open to a cut-price deal or a fair swap, I suppose it’s possible. But if they aren’t, why would either side push this deal?
