Arsenal are already listening to offers for Alexandre Lacazette this summer, and considering a swap deal with Atletico Madrid for Thomas Lemar.

AS report that Arsenal are considering the possibility of a swap deal with Atletico, trading Alexandre Lacazette for Thomas Lemar. The Spanish outlet claims the Gunners are already listening to offers for the striker who turns 29 this month.

Atletico are aware Lemar’s value is much less than than the €70m they paid for him two years ago. Even taking into account the limits on his game-time this season, the fact he doesn’t have one goal or assist this campaign is worrying.

All the same, Arsenal hold an interest in the player. Atletico very much like Lacazette, so AS claim there ‘could be an understanding’ between the two clubs.

These swap deal rumours are likely to spring up more and more as we approach the transfer window. Earlier today we covered reports of a possible Mkhitaryan-Kluivert swap, now it’s Lacazette-Lemar. The media are finally catching onto the fact that no one really has any money to spend right now.

Personally, I’m still hugely dubious Arsenal would move for Lemar now. That 2016/17 campaign is still the only one he really shone in, and that was with Kylian Mbappe in Ligue 1. He’d need to really perform in the final weeks of La Liga (if we get them) to earn an Arsenal move.
