Sport Bild report that Arsenal registered ‘specific interest’ with Angelo Stiller of Bayern Munich. The teenage defensive midfielder plays for Bayern II as things stand, still waiting on his competitive debut for the senior side.

Ideally, Stiller wants to play for Bayern in the long-term. However, the lack of opportunities to play has seen him run his contract down to its final year. He’s considering a summer move, though Bayern may push to secure a buy-back clause in his contract.

Despite playing a defensive role in midfield, Stiller shone in this year’s UEFA Youth League creatively. He provided six assists in six games, as well as scoring once against Spurs.

That will have impressed Arsenal scouts, who also saw the midfielder play in pre-season. He got a chance in Bayern’s friendly game against the Gunners.

The left-footed Germany u18 international is also catching the eye of various clubs in his home country. All the same, he’s certainly a cheaper alternative to some of the other defensive midfield signings Arsenal could make this summer.
