The Telegraph report that Partey has ‘made it clear’ he wants to move to Arsenal this summer. Speaking to those close to him, he revealed his ambitions to play in the Premier League with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The main issue is whether Arsenal can actually figure out a way to afford a deal. Partey has a €50m release clause, probably larger than the club’s entire transfer budget as things stand.

The Telegraph do add that Atletico hold an interest in Lacazette, however, and that they are one of the clubs considering swap deals. Mikel Arteta is prioritising signing a defensive midfielder, so it’s not impossible he could accept a swap like that.

Lacazette’s future does seem a little uncertain at the moment. He only has a contract until 2022, and he dropped out of the Premier League starting lineup for Eddie Nketiah immediately before the coronavirus shutdown.

Then again, he scored off the bench in that final game, so maybe he’d won his place back.

Either way, it doesn’t seem like Partey is going to cause any problems if Arsenal make a move. All the rumours suggest he’s keen, and getting the player on-side is often a key factor in a move. It’s just about figuring out how they can afford him now.
