Sky Sports News report that Havertz wants to join Bayern when the transfer window opens. The midfielder earned a lot of interest from Premier League clubs for his appearances with Leverkusen this season, but it seems he’d prefer to stay in Germany.

The media linked Arsenal to the 20-year-old, but those rumours died down once it became clear the player could cost £90m or more. Sky report that Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs are all still monitoring him.

Havertz is having a great season, but he’s in particularly good form since the turn of the year. In 13 appearances in 2020, he has seven goals and seven assists. So he’s contributing to more than a goal per game.

He still has a deal until 2022, but that’s not exactly a long contract for a 20-year-old. Leverkusen want £100m all the same, and it would be no surprise at all to see Bayern snap up yet another star from a club below them in the league, even for a hefty fee.
