Arsenal, along with Manchester United and Chelsea, have reportedly been told that Kai Havertz will cost £90m next summer.

The 20-year-old, who was the subject of a lot of speculation during the summer, looks set to finally leave Bayer Leverkusen next summer but not on the cheap.

Although under contract with the Bundesliga side, he recently told Sportbuzzer (via The S*n), “I am happy to stay at Leverkusen for one more year.

“What happens next summer will be experienced in the future.”

When Arsenal were linked with him over the summer he was billed as ‘Mesut Ozil’ replacement and seeing as Unai Emery is refusing to allow Mesut Ozil to be Mesut Ozil it would seem like we need a new one.

That being said, £90m is still an awful lot of money, even in this crazy world we live in where Harry Maguire costs £80m.

This season, the attacking midfielder has one goal in five games, giving him a total at Leverkusen of 30 goals and 22 assists in 112 games.

To compare with the man he is supposed to be eyed to replace, Ozil has 43 goals and 74 assists in 232 games – a direct goal involvement rate of 1.98. Havertz’s is already 2.15 and he isn’t even of legal age to drink in America yet.
