Inter Milan aren’t in any form of official negotiations with Arsenal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to a report.

With his contract expiring in 2021, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is generating plenty of rumours around his future right now, with Inter Milan regularly cropping up.

Recent reports suggested Aubameyang was speaking to Inter players about a possible move. The Serie A club were reportedly pushing for a move behind the scenes. However, Gianluca Di Marzio told Sky Sports that he doesn’t believe this is the case.

“No, Inter Milan are not in talks with Arsenal for Aubameyang,” Di Marzio claimed. “There are no contacts, no official contacts at all, between Inter and Arsenal.

“Even if he could be a target in the future, I can’t deny this possible target for Inter. But no contacts, no prices, no deal between Inter Milan and Arsenal for Aubameyang.”

That’s a reasonably conclusive statement when it comes to anything official. It doesn’t exclude the possibility of Inter interest, or that the club might try to make a move later in the summer.

But we can ignore all the outlets claiming a deal might be close right now, or paper talk of negotiations over Arsenal’s asking price, and so on.

Most recently, Spanish outlet Sport claimed Aubameyang is actually considering renewing his contract anyway. The situation could go in any direction at the moment. It’s good news there’s no official progress on his departure, at least.
