Arsenal are the favourites to sign Orkun Kokcu as they’re willing to offer more than their competitors for the transfer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet La Razon suggests Arsenal are the current favourites to sign Orkun Kokcu. They write that the Gunners are willing to offer €26.5m, which is more than Sevilla are willing to pay.

Sevilla sent representatives to Rotterdam to try and convince the midfielder to choose them instead. However, the inability to match Arsenal financially could leave them looking elsewhere.

Reports from England recently suggested Kokcu would cost around £23m, not too far off the €26.5m figure above. Feyenoord boss Dick Advocaat then told the media he believes Arsenal’s interest is genuine, though they haven’t had any direct contact from the club.

Kokcu put together 35 appearances this season before the postponements, scoring three goals and assisting six. In Europe, he assisted goals against Rangers and FC Porto in his final group stage appearances.

Arsenal scouts reportedly first watched Kokcu on his debut in 2018. The player has a strong long shot and takes good set-pieces.
