Dejan Iliev is the latest Arsenal loanee to pick up an injury, missing the last couple of games for Jagiellonia and likely to sit out of a few more.

Joining an increasingly lengthy Arsenal loanee injury list, Dejan Iliev missed Jagiellonia’s fixtures against Lech Poznan and Pogon Szczecin in the last week, and he won’t return this weekend against Slask either.

Reports in the Polish media suggest Iliev is going to miss around three or four weeks. There’s still no exact explanation of what the problem is, but hopefully, it’s nothing more serious than that timeframe.

The season so far has been a bit of a rollercoaster for Iliev. He started on loan with SKF Sered in Slovakia, making 18 appearances and keeping three clean sheets. After that, Arsenal recalled him and reloaned him out to Jagiellonia.

Even in his first three appearances in Poland, he isn’t finding any stability. He made a mistake on his debut, then kept a clean sheet, before conceding a bizarre goal in his third game and seemingly picking up this injury.

Maybe a fitness/injury issue was contributing to the problem. We’ll just have to wait and see how the goalkeeper does on his return.
