Mavididi shone for Dijon in a 3-3 draw with FC Nantes on Saturday. He scored twice and assisted once, giving his team the lead three times. Unfortunately, they threw it away on each occasion, despite Mavididi scoring to make it 3-2 in the 90th minute.

The ex-Arsenal academy striker is bursting into life since the start of 2020. He has six goals and two assists in eight games, despite only managing two goals and no assists in his 15 appearances for Dijon in 2019.

Part of that is because he’s starting more regularly now. Seven of his 15 starts came in just over a month after the winter break, with the other eight spread from August to December.

Still, the forward’s form is certainly improving. He’s looking more like the player who used to score regularly in the Arsenal u23s, before the injury problems at Charlton slowed his progress and the move to Juventus didn’t all go to plan.

Dijon signed Mavididi on loan this season, though they reportedly have an option to buy.

At his best, Mavididi’s pace and dribbling can cause defences problems and his finishing is deadly. Good luck to him in keeping up this recent consistency for the remainder of the season!
