As we exclusively confirmed last night, the Robbie Burton move to Dinamo Zagreb is a permanent one, not a loan. Arsenal have now announced as much, wishing the midfielder luck for the future after 14 years with the club’s academy.

Burton signed a professional contract in 2018, and he regularly captained the u23s this season.

Inside sources told Daily Cannon Burton’s dream was always to play for the Arsenal first team, but after impressing in pre-season and still not getting his competitive debut, it was best to move on. They aren’t closing the door on a return someday though.

Arsenal could earn up to £800,000 for the deal. Dinamo Zagreb are a great club for him to end up at, often playing Champions League football and with a good history developing top midfielders.

Burton did make one appearance in a senior squad back in September, against Nottingham Forest. He also travelled to Liege for a Europa League clash as the 19th man. Sadly, that never led to him taking the next step. Good luck to him for the future!
