Ahead of their game against QPR at the weekend, Leeds announced Nketiah was ruled out with an abdominal injury. The Athletic claim the striker damaged a stomach muscle in training on Friday, and he’s likely to be out for four weeks.

This news would certainly come as a blow for both the player and his loan club. Nketiah is Leeds’ top scorer in all competitions this season, so even though Marcelo Bielsa has been refusing to start the 20-year-old in league matches, he’ll still want him available.

For the Arsenal loanee, the timing couldn’t be much worse, right as it seemed he was finally starting to close in on that first start for the club. The Athletic claim he was set to get it over the weekend before the injury.

If Nketiah indeed misses four weeks, he’ll return at the start of December ahead of Leeds’ trip to Huddersfield.

In the meantime, he’ll miss Blackburn (H), Luton Town (A), Reading (A) and Middlesbrough (H). He’ll also have to miss out on England u21 duty.

At least the international break will prevent Nketiah missing more club games and the team building too much momentum without him. We wish him well with his recovery.
