Bukayo Saka provided an assist for the England u19s’ second goal in a 4-0 win over Luxembourg on Wednesday, with former Gunner Xavier Amaechi also involved in the goals.

Bukayo Saka and Tyreece John-Jules are both with the England u19s over the international break, as the team kick off their u19 Euro 2020 campaign.

Saka made the starting lineup for the opening game against Luxembourg, and he set up a goal for Bobby Duncan in the 29th minute. A few minutes later, former Gunner Xavier Amaechi set up Duncan’s second, before Amaechi scored one of his own in the 75th minute.

By that point, Saka had already been replaced, coming off in the 71st minute. The u19s have two more games over the break, so it’s not surprising to see the coaches try to protect their players with substitutions.

That’s presumably also the reason John-Jules didn’t feature in the match. We’d expect him to get a chance against North Macedonia on Saturday.

Saka was the first Arsenal player involved in the international break, but for the full fixture schedule for Arsenal youth players with the various England teams over the break, click here. For a similar schedule for the senior internationals involving Arsenal, click here.
