Arsenal will reportedly not spend any money in January which is not really all that surprising when you think about it.

The January window is an expensive time to go shopping.

While the rest of the western world hits the January sales, the price of players rockets as clubs look to take advantage of the desperation of others.

A report in Spain claims that Arsenal are unlikely to spend when the window opens but, when you consider that the only thing they really need is a new head coach, that’s understandable.

Who are you buying in January? Yeah, we could do with a centreback but Rob Holding is back and fit, Calum Chambers is playing really well and William Saliba will arrive in the summer.

We could also do with a back-up left-back to replace Sead Kolasinac but in terms of a number two he’s not bad. Ditto at right-back. We don’t need a keeper or any forwards and we have the components at the club for a kick-arse midfield if only Unai Emery would learn how to use them.

There could well be a few outgoings however with AC Milan reportedly close to a deal to sign Mohamed Elneny on a permanent basis.
