Arsenal are still keeping an eye on AS Roma winger Cengiz Under, despite spending big on Nicolas Pepe this summer, according to reports in Italy.

Il Messaggero report that Arsenal are still ‘keeping an eye’ on Under, along with the likes of Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur.

Under signed a new contract until 2023 earlier this month, after plenty of interest from around Europe over the summer.

Di Marzio’s Fabrizio Romano confirmed earlier this year that Arsenal had shown an interest in Under in January, and they sent scouts to watch him on further occasions in the second half of last season.

In the end, Arsenal instead moved to sign Nicolas Pepe from Ligue 1 side Lille.

The two players are both left-footed right-wingers, so it would seem as if that signing would end the Gunners’ pursuit of Under. According to Il Messaggero, that’s not the case, and Arsenal could still look to employ both in the future.

Under scored one goal in his only appearance for Roma this season, a 3-3 draw against Genoa. The 22-year-old managed six goals and nine assists in 33 appearances in 2018/19.
