Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac have both returned to training but it’s not clear yet if they will be involved in Saturday’s game against Burnley.

The pair have been missing from Arsenal as, along with the police and the club, they try to deal with the gang threat both have found themselves living with.

24-hour guards, security dogs, and a host of other measures have been deployed to try and keep the pair safe in recent weeks with Kolasinac’s wife, Bella, and their dogs, returning to Germany because of the threats.

It is hoped that the pair’s return to training signals some sort of return to normality and that this situation has finally been brought under control.

While there was much hair-pulling and chest thumping over Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s enforced absence from the Europa League final in Azerbaijan, little has been said about two top players from a leading English club being literally forced into hiding in England.

But I guess this is not some far-flung place it’s easy to criticise because of inherent xenophobia, eh?

Unai Emery should provide more information at Arsenal’s pre-Burnley press conference.
