Arsenal fans were left stunned on Wednesday afternoon when it was reported that David Luiz was trying to force through a move from Chelsea to Arsenal but it all makes sense when you know who is involved…

Back in January, it was reported that David Luiz wanted a longer extension than Chelsea were prepared to give him because of his age.
Remember that over-30s policy Arsene Wenger had for a while that he was trashed for in the papers? Well, Chelsea have one too.
They were only offering Luiz a 12-month extension to his deal that was set to expire this summer.
Four months later, in May 2019, he signed a new deal.
According to Transfermarkt his deal now runs out in 2021 so he got two years instead of one.
Given that he signed it barely three months ago, it seems odd that he would be agitating so strongly for a move that he reportedly skipped training.
As per @lequipe, sources have confirmed to @TheAthleticUK that David Luiz didn’t train at Cobham today with Arsenal believed to be interested in signing him.
Such a bizarre turn of events after he got Chelsea to give him a two-year deal in May #cfc

Odd, that is, until you get to…
His representative

Kia Joorabchian is David Luiz’s ‘representative’ and he’s got is claws into Arsenal with the arrival of Edu, another of his clients.
Who else does Joorabchian represent? Philippe Coutinho.
David Luiz's agent……..
Kia Jorrabchian.

Romain Molina has been tweeting about him recently.
He said, via Google Translate, “Kia Joorabchian is doing a real mess of media (to move) around his players, in this case Coutinho. Incidentally, Kia is behind the arrival of Edu Arsenal, so the interests of the club will come after his, as usual.”
He then went on to warn that Edu would not be ‘independent’ in his choices, saying ‘ask QPR, Reading, Corinthians’ for examples of Joorabchian’s behaviour.

It’s notable that L’Equipe were also the first to break the Coutinho-to-Arsenal rumours that broke this week and have caused chaos for 24 hours despite Unai Emery’s denials that the club have ever even talked about Coutinho.
