After rumours started to emerge that Kelechi Nwakali had agreed to sign for SD Huesca just one week ago, Allwell Nwakali, Kelechi’s brother and agent said, “The news is not correct, nothing like that for now. If Kelechi is joining a new club, I’ll be the first person to know.

”I know Kelechi will leave Arsenal either on loan or permanent deal, clubs are coming for him. By God’s grace I know we will be able to get a better club and a club that can play him each game, it’s not all about the money.

”He wants to go to a place where he’ll get the chance to play so he can showcase his talents, that’s what we want.”

At the time of the quote above, Allwell was clearly playing dumb because he has now confirmed that they are indeed in talks with SD Huesca.

”Kelechi has returned to London, he is training with Arsenal youth team,” Allwell told allnigeriasoccer.com.

”He has started talks with Arsenal and SD Huesca, and he’s trying to sort out the contract.”

Nwakali was granted compassionate leave by Arsenal after the death of his grandmother but he has now returned to the club and it is hoped his future is sorted one way of the other soon.

His contract with Arsenal runs until 2021
