Marca, Mundo Deportivo and AS are now all reporting that a loan move for Dani Ceballos to Arsenal is close, but not confirmed just yet.
Earlier today, we brought you reports from AS claiming Ceballos is closing in on an Arsenal loan deal this summer. The suggestion was that with Real Madrid not looking to sell and Arsenal without the funds to buy, a season-long loan would suit both parties.
A couple of other Spanish sources have now weighed in on the story. Marca claim Arsenal are pushing for a loan, accepting they won’t be able to insert a purchase option and will have to pay the player’s wages in full.
They add that Ceballos likes Arsenal, London and Unai Emery. Whilst the Gunners are trying to finalise a deal this week, and talks are advanced, they’re still waiting on Madrid’s final ‘ok’.
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo claim Ceballos’ future ‘seems to be in London’. Arsenal have accepted all of Madrid’s conditions for the loan deal, so again, they’re just waiting for Madrid to give the go-ahead.
Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Ceballos all window, so it would be good to get one over on them. It’s always hard to know which Spanish publications you can rely on though, as they all have a pretty mixed record on transfers.
