They report that Zinedine Zidane should make his decision today on the 22-year-old midfielder after joining up with Real Madrid on tour following the death of his brother Farid, who was only 54.

It had been reported at the start of July that the player’s preferred destination was Spurs despite links with Arsenal, Liverpool and AC Milan but it seems it will be the Gunners who land him if this report is to be believed.

Ceballos is currently on holiday after taking part in the u21 Euros and is expected back on 22 July.

‘Everything points to him going to Emery’s Arsenal,’ AS conclude, adding, ‘although it seemed that Tottenham had everything tied.’

The loan is likely to come with an option to buy although how much that would cost is not yet clear.
