FC Barcelona are open to offers for French centre-back Samuel Umtiti, but they’ve yet to receive one, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Sport report that Umtiti is set to remain with Barcelona as things stand. The La Liga club haven’t received any firm proposals for the defender throughout the summer, and they aren’t expecting one in August.

On the other hand, they’re willing to let Umtiti leave if they do receive an offer that meets their valuation. That valuation was initially set at €60m, though Sport suggest the lack of offers may bring it down a bit.

Umtiti has been sidelined with injuries in recent months, but he’s arrived in pre-season to perform well in Barcelona’s friendly matches so far. Of course, Arsenal travel to the Camp Nou to face the French international’s side this weekend.

Arsenal are reportedly in the hunt for a centre-back late in the window, and they’ve been linked with Umtiti in the past.

At this stage in the window, it doesn’t seem very likely they start negotiations for a €60m Barcelona player. With Nicolas Pepe joining for £72m, however, this window has been full of surprises so far.
