Bennacer’s future is the subject of much speculation at the moment, after his impressive season with Empoli in Serie A. There are a number of clubs said to be interested in his signature, which creates a couple of possibilities for Arsenal.

The Gunners have the option to repurchase Bennacer for the same fee as Empoli agree with any other club, and they also have a 30% sell-on clause if they decide not to bring the midfielder back to North London.

It’s good news, therefore, that Bennacer is continuing to impress with Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 21-year-old won Man of the Match in their opening 2-0 win, and he was praised for his work at both ends of the pitch, as well as in linking the two.
