According to reports on Friday, Krystian Bielik wants to quit Arsenal this summer, but the claims don’t really make much sense.

To start with, the claim originates in The S*n, so we’re already off to a pretty unreliable start. According to them, Bielik “wants to quit” Arsenal because he has “no prospects of regular first-team football at the Emirates next season”.

The English outlet add that Arsenal higher-ups told Bielik back in April that they were planning to loan him again instead of giving him a senior chance.

This doesn’t really fit with quotes from the last month from the player and those around him though.

Bielik suggested his future was still ‘unknown’ earlier in June, and implied it hinged on whether he’d get the chance to play for the Arsenal first team. If he already knew he wouldn’t get that opportunity all the way back in April, those quotes wouldn’t make sense.

Similarly, Charlton head of recruitment Steve Gallen said Bielik would join up with Arsenal for pre-season, after spending the year with them on loan last year.

Bielik is currently abroad on holiday, after being away on international duty, so it seems very unlikely that he’s already held talks with Arsenal about his future. Why would he, when he could wait and see what happens in pre-season?

There’s no doubt that Bielik wants to be playing senior football, and if Arsenal don’t offer him that he’ll surely push for an exit. However, for the time being there’s no suggestion the decision is made, so it seems The S*n are just trying to stir things up.
