Unfortunately for Arsenal and any other potential suitors, Yannick Carrasco isn’t going to be available for free this summer, despite some reports on social media.

Carrasco has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, but recently the potential deal has stalled, with Dalian Yifang reluctant to sell.

Then, when Carrasco arrived back from international duty late and ended up missing a club match, Dalian issued him with a suspension. Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws reported on this suspension.

After that, Turkish outlet Tribun Dergi covered HLN’s report, but the Bing translation of the Turkish tweet was rather misleading. It appeared to suggest Carrasco’s contract had been terminated, and he could now leave for free, which he was preparing to do.

This was simply a mistranslation. The reality is that Carrasco has only been suspended, and Dalian are still just as unwilling to let him go as before.

However, Arsenal Twitter was immediately flooded with those under the impression Carrasco could now join the club on a free transfer:
