Arsenal’s negotiations with Dalian Yifang for Yannick Carrasco are already very far advanced, but they face potential competition from Bayern Munich, according to reports in Germany.

The reliable Christian Falk of Sport Bild reports that Arsenal are ‘very far’ in negotiations for the Belgian, but he’s also Bayern’s Plan B if they fail to land Manchester City’s Leroy Sane.

Bayern would have no problem paying Carrasco’s €30m price tag if that’s what it comes to, as they’ve reportedly got another €85m to spend this summer. Arsenal’s rumoured £45m budget will make it difficult to compete if Bayern do make a serious swoop.

The Bundesliga club do have other names on their shortlist though, from Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler to Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Preferably, Arsenal would land Carrasco and Bayern would end up taking another player away from Chelsea, but transfer windows rarely go that smoothly in North London.

Previous reports suggested Arsenal have an agreement with Carrasco himself already, so they just need to finalise a transfer fee with his club. Dalian Yifang are demanding over £25m, whilst the Gunners are trying to break up that payment with multiple instalments or bonuses.
