Arsenal have an agreement with Yannick Carrasco for him to join the club this summer, and they’re closing in on a deal with Dalian Yifang as well, according to reports.

Italian journalist Pietro Balzano Prota reports that Arsenal have an agreement with the Belgian international to join the club this summer.

All that remains is the final agreement with Dalian Yifang over a fee, and that’s reportedly also ‘very close’ now, with €30m plus bonuses the expected outcome.

Pietro Balzano Prota has a good reputation in Milan for reliability, and the fact that the Serie A club were also linked to Carrasco explains why he’s getting involved in reporting the Arsenal deal.

Of course, we’re still waiting on the usual Arsenal sources like David Ornstein to give their seal of approval to the news, but this is certainly one to keep an eye on.

The Evening Standard’s James Olley confirmed last week that Arsenal were planning to return for Carrasco.

The Standard have since posted an update that Dalian Yifang are demanding a fee of over £25m, but Arsenal are trying to stagger payments or pay part of that fee in performance-related add-ons so it doesn’t eat into their restricted budget quite as much.

With the Chinese Super League operating on a different calendar, Carrasco is currently midway through the season with Dalian Yifang.

He’s scored seven goals and assisted two in nine games for the club this campaign, despite very mixed results leaving the side in the bottom half of the table.

In his last half season in Europe, playing for Atletico Madrid, Carrasco managed four goals and seven assists in 1,459 minutes on the pitch, an average of one goal contribution every 132 minutes.
