If Arsenal want to sign David Neres from Ajax he will cost most, if not all, of their transfer budget.

David Neres is expected to leave Ajax this summer and Arsenal have reportedly held talks about signing the player.

Chelsea seem to be in pole position to sign the forward – provided their transfer ban appeal is successful – but even if Arsenal were seriously considering a move for him, €40m would blow the majority of their budget for this summer.

A Dutch report claims, “Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are in the race for the signature of David Neres. The Brazilian attacker of Ajax must cost more than 40 million euros.”

However, they are getting their information from an ‘exclusive’ in The S*n.

Neres is under contract until 2022 after signing an extension in September, 20 months after arriving from Sao Paulo for a fee of £10.8m.

This season, he has eight goals and 11 assists in 26 Eredivisie games and a total of 12 goals and 15 assists in 50 games across all competitions, although he has neither scored nor assisted in his last six after scoring seven goals in the eight games before that.
