According to a report this weekend, Unai Emery wants to bring four players to the club this summer.
We all know that Arsenal will be active in the transfer window this summer with a number of players leaving and replacements being sought.
Until now, we’ve had names of a random assortment of players but no clear insight into what the club are trying to do.
Now, we have a better idea after the Mail on Sunday revealed the positions the club are looking to reinforce.
The first signing of the summer is strongly rumoured to be 17-year-old Gabriel Martinelli.
After that, Unai Emery will look to bring in another centre-back, left-back and attacking wide player.
A left-back is needed because Nacho Monreal will leave on a free.
A centre-back is required because Shkodran Mustafi is an idiot while Arsenal’s need for a true wide player has been evident for a long time.
It’s not a leap to suggest that Martinelli is being brought in as the club get ready to let Danny Welbeck leave.
We can all but hope this is an accurate reflection of what will happen.
