According to reports from Turkey, Besiktas want to replace Atiba Hutchinson with Mohamed Elneny.

Mohamed Elneny looks like he will be one of a number of players to leave Arsenal this summer and the Turkish side are one of a few who have been linked with him.

Back in January, Roma reportedly wanted the Egyptian on loan with an option to buy and it seems like this is the same sort of deal that Besiktas are interested in.

36-year-old Hutchinson is out of contract in the summer and set to leave after six years with the club so Besiktas are looking for an affordable replacement. Elneny is said to be their ‘primary target’.

Elneny signed a new deal with Arsenal in March last year when they also gave him the number four shirt in a move that seemed strange at the time. The four is, of course, an iconic shirt for any team and to hand it to a player who was unlikely to play much always seemed a bit of a weird move.

This season, the 26-year-old has played just 176 league minutes for Arsenal and a total of 768 minutes overall in all competitions. He has started just six games and four of those were in the Europa League.

Since joining Arsenal at the start of 2016 for £11.25m, Elneny has played 84 times, scoring two and assisting eight.

His current contract runs until 2022 but it is highly unlikely he will still be at the club when the summer window closes.
