Arsenal are reportedly still interested in bringing 30-year-old Ever Banega to the club as an Aaron Ramsey replacement.

The report, which started in England but has been picked up in Italy, claims that the Gunners are suffering from ‘great regret’ over Ramsey’s departure for Juventus, although it’s not clear if they mean the fanbase or the club. The latter seem less bothered than the former, that’s for sure.

The hunt, then, goes on to find his replacement and so far the names being linked are anything but overwhelming. They’re also mostly over the age of 30, too.

So, here we are, back at Banega, a player heavily linked with a January move to the club. That didn’t happen and Sevilla were said to want to renew his contract at the club. That hasn’t happened yet either.

His current deal expires next summer.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for 30-year-old Steven N’Zonzi.
