Should Monchi decide to leave Roma for Arsenal in the summer, he could bring Steven N’Zonzi with him, according to a report from Italy.

Even though N’Zonzi isn’t for sale, he could still be coming to Arsenal with Monchi if he decides to take up the Arsenal Director of Football job that, as far as we know, hasn’t been offered to anyone yet.

Still with me?

To recap, that’s a player who is not for sale possibly coming with a man who may not leave for a job he hasn’t been offered.

N’Zonzi, who played for Unai Emery when the pair were at Sevilla, has been even more heavily linked with a move to Arsenal since the Spaniard arrived.

N’Zonzi is also another 30-year-old player who, while still in top form, has his best days behind him. While I understand the need for experience, after years of preferring youth over 30+ players, it’s all a bit strange.

N’Zonzi only signed for Roma last summer in a move that cost the Italians £24m. He is under contract until 2022.
