Arsenal could welcome Kim Little back from her broken leg sooner than expected as the club look for some good news following Jordan Nobb’s ACL injury.

With Arsenal flying high at the top of the WSL, serious injuries are starting to take their toll. The news that Jordan Nobbs suffered an ACL rupture against Everton on Sunday was a massive blow to the club who face a title-decider against Manchester City in two weeks’ time.

Little had her leg fractured by a terrible tackle during the 5-0 win over Chelsea last month but a report in the Evening Standard stated: “…it is understood the Scottish international is making a swift recovery from her injury and could be back in the squad ahead of schedule.”

If true, this would be a massive boost to the whole team as Little’s experience and ability cannot be understated.

It was estimated that Little would be sidelined for 10 weeks after Drew Spence’s scissor challenge that received only a yellow card.

Olympique Lyonnais and England star, Lucy Bronze, gave her thoughts on the challenge, and it was one that was echoed throughout women’s football. “Real shame for Kim, Arsenal and the league,” she wrote on Twitter. “Fans come to watch players like her play. But repeatedly let down by the standard of officiating (not all officiating, may I add). But there’s a real underlaying (sic) problem somewhere.”

It has been five weeks since the injury so it would be unrealistic to expect Little back immediately, however her return cannot come soon enough for Arsenal as they chase their first league title since 2012.
