Jordan Nobbs was spotted leaving Everton on Sunday on crutches with her knee in a brace.

Arsenal’s latest win, this time a 4-0 thrashing of Everton taking their goal-tally to 38 from eight league games, was marred by what looked like a serious injury to star midfielder, Jordan Nobbs who had grabbed her ninth goal of the season as well as an assist for Vivianne Miedema.

As the game was petering out, Nobbs went into a tackle with former Arsenal player, Chloe Kelly, and came out in a heap as her knee joint seemed to twist.

A deathly silence descended around the ground as the stretcher came on and the oxygen came out. She was, thankfully, sitting up before she was stretchered from the pitch but it is another injury at a time when Arsenal are already thin.

Kim Little, Viktoria Schnaderbeck, and Danielle Carter are all out while the club recently admitted that new signing, Tabea Kemme, has suffered a ‘reaction’ in her knee after a cartilage problem.

“We’re just fighting battle after battle after battle with Kim Little obviously, Viktoria Schnaderbeck going down, Tabea Kemme’s not right,” Joe Montemurro said at the end of the game. “But this is football, we have to put up with these ups and downs and while the football is an up, maybe these other areas are the down.”

Montemurro is confident, however, that Arsenal have the personnel needed to cope. “We’ve got some good players that sit on the bench so we’re quite comfortable and happy going forward. I’m comfortable with whoever I put in,” he added.

The club will now wait for swelling to subside before scanning Nobbs’ knee to determine the severity of the damage.
