AC Milan will try to sign Aaron Ramsey in January, with an injury to Lucas Biglia forcing them into the market sooner than planned.

According to CalcioMercato, Milan are following both Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey, as both players’ contracts expire next year. Initially, they were planning to wait to get one of them in on a free transfer.

However, senior midfielder Biglia is now reportedly going to be out for four months, after picking up an injury at the end of October. He’d started all of Milan’s first nine league games of the season, as well as two of their three Europa League matches before being sidelined.

As a result, the Italian outlet report that Milan are considering investing some money to bring either Ramsey or Rabiot in ‘immediately’. CalcioMercato make Ramsey the favourite, thanks to Ivan Gazidis’ presence at the club.

From an Arsenal point of view, if we’re losing Ramsey in one of the next two windows, it would be better to do it sooner rather than later. The difference the Welshman could make in a few months on the pitch surely doesn’t match up to bringing in some extra money and reinvesting in a long-term replacement.

We’ll see what happens in January.
