Arsenal have been given a boost in their chase for a new manager as Leonardo Jardim is set to quit Monaco for a new challenge this summer.

Jardim has long been linked with Arsenal and is reportedly one of the top names on Ivan Gazidis’ shortlist to replace Arsene Wenger.

The S*n are now reporting, in an exclusive, that Jardim will leave Ligue 1 at the end of the season according to a ‘dressing-room source’ at the club.

Back in March it was reported that Jardim was keen to take over from Wenger.

According to a report in the Independent, Arsenal were prepared to make Jardim their manager in the summer before Arsene Wenger signed a new two-year deal.

Jardim is reportedly ‘hugely admired’ at the club for the way he improved Monaco although this is relatively obvious rather than any indication of inside knowledge.
