Arsenal may have put in a vastly improved performance at the San Siro on Thursday night but Danny Welbeck was his usual clumsy self.
Welbeck had the chance to help his team go 3-0 ahead against AC Milan in the Europa League but didn’t because, instead of rounding the goalkeeper or attempting a clever chip when he was through on goal, he tripped over his own feet instead.

Somewhat hilariously, the ball almost bounced into the net off the back of his own head anyway, which Arsenal fans agree would have been the most ‘Welbeck goal’ ever. Although most Gooners are just annoyed that the former United forward is so poor.
Welbeck must be every defender’s nightmare. How do you anticipate Welbeck’s moves when Welbeck doesn’t have a clue what Welbeck is doing the next minute?

As much as (most) Arsenal fans love Welbz, his inability to score goals is becoming clearer and clearer.
While the 27-year-old has suffered copious injury problems throughout his career, especially since he came to north London in 2014, he’s only scored five goals in 29 appearances this term.
The striker has also only managed to provide one assist.
The England international’s shot accuracy, according to Squawka, is at 58% this season, which is the same as Aaron Ramsey’s. The difference is, Rambo’s a midfielder, not a striker. Welbeck’s job is to shoot and at least get it on target.
With under 18 months left on his contract at Arsenal, I don’t see Welbeck staying at the club long-term. But until he leaves, Arsenal fans can ‘enjoy’ his ‘Welbeck-isms’… at least when Arsene Wenger’s men are winning anyway. When they’re not, they’re just highly irritating.
