Arsenal slipped to a new low over the weekend, losing a fourth consecutive match, 2-1 against newly promoted Brighton & Hove Albion.

The showing wasn’t good enough from the entire team, but there were one or two performances that stood out, for positive or negative reasons.

Here are our individual player ratings:

Henrikh Mkhitaryan 4

Mkhitaryan created the most on the team against Brighton, but it all came from his corners. He looked fairly lively, but was wasteful on a couple of occasions. Arsenal need to get him on the ball a bit more in future.

Alex Iwobi 2.5

Brighton dispossessed Iwobi more than anyone else on the pitch. The Nigerian international didn’t make a single chance, or complete any of his dribbles. In the second half he was the first player Wenger sacrificed to try and change the game.

He did have one moment of quality, staying calm in the box and finding Xhaka, who then assisted Arsenal’s only goal.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 5.5

Arsenal still aren’t creating enough for Aubameyang, but he was probably the team’s best player. He got both of his shots on target, scoring the first with an improvised finish from close range. He also made a couple of opportunities for his teammates.

From the first minute he looked lively and willing to run at the Brighton defence. It’s too bad the Arsenal defence made sure it was all for nothing.
