Arsenal lost 1-0 against Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s North London derby, but they put in a terrible performance that deserved an even worse scoreline.

Čech, Bellerin and a bit of luck prevented the result from being an utter embarrassment. The forwards and midfielders didn’t do nearly enough to deserve a goal, and the rest of the defence offered very little in the way of protection, especially in the second half.

Mesut Özil – 6

Probably one of Arsenal’s best outfield players, but even he wasn’t good enough. He wasted a first-half chance for a counter attack and the free-kick at the end. Still, he created a couple of chances, out of just four that the whole team managed all game.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 4

Mkhitaryan had a shaky first 45 minutes, with a couple of wayward crosses from good positions. He was solid defensively but couldn’t make an impact on the ball like he did against Everton.

He didn’t last very long in the second half either, as Arsene Wenger withdrew him to try and change the game. Disappointing overall, even if he did show his quality in patches.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 5

Nice movement for the first-half chance created by Wilshere which was unfairly punished by the linesman’s flag. Couldn’t get involved as much as he would’ve wanted, and had even less chance when Wenger moved him out onto the left. Didn’t do enough, but the team didn’t give him the chance to do more.
