Schalke have given midfielder Max Meyer until March 20th to decide if he wants to stay at the club or not, according to reports.

Meyer is out of contract in the summer and could soon be on the move.

According to Bild, the 22-year-old has been offered a new deal by Schalke, but he’s keeping his options open.

As a result, Schalke have reportedly given him until March 20th to make a decision.

Meyer has been linked with a move to Arsenal, as well as AC Milan and Barcelona.

He could follow Sead Kolasinac’s footsteps in leaving Schalke and joining Arsenal for nothing.

Despite that, Schalke’s sporting director Christian Heidel has denied that there’s a rift between the player and the club.

“All I can say is that we have absolutely no bad relationship with the management of Max Meyer or with him,” he said, as reported by Fussballtransfers.

Meyer emerged as an attacking midfielder but has been played in a deeper position this season.

That could make him a more appealing signing for Arsenal, who have plenty of depth in attacking midfield but not in central midfield.

We’ve struggled to replace Santi Cazorla since his injury, and Meyer could be our solution to that.
