Brazilian forward Richarlison is leaving transfers to his agent as he’s fully focused on performing for Watford.

Richarlison was linked with Arsenal earlier in the season while the club was looking for a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

The 20-year-old is having an impressive first season in the Premier League and is drawing interest from the division’s biggest teams.

The player himself isn’t focussing on any of that, and is instead concentrating on doing well for Watford.

“In the future you never know but I leave all things like that up to my agents,” he told the Evening Standard in response to Chelsea’s interest.

“At the moment my head is completely in Watford. I am not thinking about anything else and I want to help the team get as far as possible in the League. That is my objective, that is my focus and nothing else.”

He added: “I want to play in this country for as long as possible. It is a great League and has been a great experience for me. I want to improve and playing in England can help me do that.”

Richarlison

The Evening Standard’s report mentions Arsenal as potential competition for Chelsea.

Arsenal may look for another winger soon as Danny Welbeck’s contract expires in 2019.

That would leave Alex Iwobi as the only wide player at the club and the squad a bit short of pace on the flanks.

The Brazilian is a raw talent, but could turn into a fine player with the right guidance.

Watford would understandably be reluctant to let go of him and would surely ask for a significant fee.

Judging from comments by their chief executive, Scott Duxbury, the plan is to keep him for a while yet.

“We want Richarlison to be here for many more seasons,” he said.

Richarlison has five goals and four assists in 27 Premier League appearances this season. He is under contract at Watford until 2022, after arriving for a fee of £11.16m in the summer.
