After losing 2-1 at home to Östersunds FK on Thursday night, Arsenal fans have once again turned on players like Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck in order to vent their frustrations.
Iwobi and Welbeck were terrible against the Swedish side, who went 2-0 ahead in the 22nd and 23rd minutes at the Emirates.
Even though Arsenal go through to the final round of 16 in the Europa League after winning 4-2 on aggregate, the performance was far from good enough.
And there were definitely certain players who stank worse than others.
Iwobi completed 82% of his passes and four dribbles, yet still looked devoid of ideas.
The 21-year-old always looks a little bit confused, which is worrying when he’s one of Arsenal’s first team players.
Welbeck was also clueless and, despite having four shots on target, he didn’t look dangerous in front of goal at any point.
This wasn’t the first time both forwards played as if they’d never set foot on a pitch before and Arsenal fans are understandably at the end of their tether.
It’s not just the isolated display against Östersunds FK, which is bad enough, it’s the consistent lack of desire and apparent unwillingness to improve.
Of course, Twitter has exploded and fans are destroying Iwobi, Welbeck, Arsene Wenger and basically anyone linked to Arsenal Football Club. And you can’t blame them.
Welbz is about as ‘sharp as a football’

Embarrassing defeat. Can we finally all agree that Iwobi and Welbeck are terrible and have no business playing professional football?

Why are we allowing Welbeck to be on this team when Lucas Perez is on loan??even if we win this tie unfortunately we can’t win the Trophy, with the likes of Atletico,Borrusia and Napoli still in the completion is gonna be difficult.

Danny Welbeck is about as sharp as the ball

A selection of men who would’ve done more up front for Arsenal tonight than 27 year old Danny Welbeck. pic.twitter.com/1TUHtKKTSO

Danny Welbeck is a striker with 59 career club goals. He turns 28 in November.

No, please tell me why Welbeck is playing with us while Perez is out on loan?
