Abdoulaye Doucoure told French TV that Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool are all interested in signing him, but he has a preference for joining Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.

Doucoure appeared on French talk show, Telefoot, and revealed the three big-six clubs have all shown an interest in him.

When asked which of Arsenal or Spurs he prefers, the Watford midfielder answered: “Arsenal, because of Arsene Wenger.”

The 25-year-old is having a great season with Watford, despite their poor form as a team. Playing in central midfield, he has seven goals and three assists in 26 league appearances.

Many of those goal contributions have come against some of the top teams in the country. He scored against Liverpool and Manchester United, and both scored and assisted two in his matches against Chelsea.

Arsenal could do with a defensive midfielder who’s also strong on the ball and contributes to the goals, and they have been linked with a bid in the summer. Watford are believed to want £25m for him.

The main positive of the quotes from Doucoure, at present, is that Wenger still has some pulling power. Considering Arsenal’s position in the table and the impending possibility of a second season without Champions League football, the club will struggle to set themselves apart from the other top sides this summer.

Some fans won’t be happy about him sticking around, but at least Wenger still has some draw while he’s here.
