Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scores against Tottenham Hotspur more regularly than any other Arsenal player has managed in the Premier League era.

According to stats from Oulala, Aubameyang scores a goal against Spurs every 88 minutes.

That’s even better than Gunners legend, Robert Pires, whose eight goals came every 113 minutes.

Emmanuel Adebayor, with his 10 against Arsenal’s North London rivals for the Gunners and Real Madrid, still only scored once every 115 minutes.

Of course, this is largely because Aubameyang has only faced Spurs four times. Arsenal legends like Pires and Henry played more than 10 North London derbies each.

You can understand why they had an off game or two over the wider sample period.

Still, it’s exciting to once again have a striker who loves a goal against the club’s local rivals. Spurs’ fans love to remind Arsenal supporters of Harry Kane’s goal record against the Gunners, but even he only has a goal every 100 minutes.

Also, it’s worth pointing out that every single one of Aubameyang’s goals came from open play. The same isn’t true for Kane, who hasn’t scored a non-penalty goal against Arsenal since March 2016.

If Aubameyang can score his second goal in two games on Saturday, I’m sure he’ll be well on his way to ‘hero’ status at the Emirates already.

Fingers crossed.
