Ahead of the North London derby this Saturday, let’s look at some of the times Arsenal have humiliated Tottenham.

Of course, if we went through every single time Arsenal have humiliated Spurs, we’d be here all day.

You don’t finish above your local rivals 21 times in a row without embarrassing them regularly.

But here are six of our favourites:

517 November 2012: Arsenal 5-2 Tottenham

Later that year, Spurs and Adebayor were out for revenge. It only took 10 minutes for the striker to score another goal against the Gunners. Then, eight minutes later, he dived in with a completely unnecessary challenge and got sent off.

Per Mertesacker, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud turned the game round against Tottenham’s 10 men. Then Santi Cazorla added another in the second half.

Gareth Bale pulled one back, but Theo Walcott killed off any hopes of a comeback with a late fifth.

Somehow Spurs had conceded five goals to their biggest rivals twice in one year.

It had, indeed, happened again.
