Henrikh Mkhitaryan is likely to become Arsenal’s best paid player when he moves, according to reports.

Mkhitaryan is set to become an Arsenal player – and a very well paid one, at that.

According to Saturday’s edition of the Daily Mail, the Armenian will become the highest paid player at the club.

He’s already on £140,000 per week at Manchester United, and that will only increase after his move.

The deal that brings him to the Emirates was initially reported as being separate from the one that sees Alexis Sanchez go the other way. However, according to David Ornstein, the deal is now a straight swap between the players.

Mkhitaryan was left out of United’s game against Burnley and has already bid a “tearful” farewell to his teammates.

He was apparently a popular player at the club and would have preferred to leave on his own terms.

Whatever the financials involved, hopefully the two deals will be official soon and everyone can move on.

It should certainly be sorted in time for the second leg of Arsenal’s Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea next Wednesday.
